Candidates for nonsurgical injectable treatments should be physically healthy and should have good skin elasticity. These treatments may be recommended for patients who wish to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and volume loss. For patients with severe skin sagging, jowls, displaced fat, and neck muscle bands, facelift surgery is likely a more appropriate procedure.
Nonsurgical treatments can provide excellent results, but the results should not be compared to those of a facelift. Because facelift surgery repositions facial tissue and trims away excess skin, its results are much more dramatic. Most candidates for facelift surgery will not see the results they desire with nonsurgical treatments. On the other hand, many patients will achieve their desired results with nonsurgical injectable treatments and not need to undergo facelift surgery.

These treatments are typically less than 30 minutes, with some as short as 15 minutes. Injectable treatments are often called “lunchtime procedures,” suggesting that patients can undergo a quick treatment and return to work shortly afterward.

Nonsurgical treatments have no post-procedure recovery period. Some patients may experience temporary minor swelling, redness, tenderness, bruising, and/or itching that can persist for a few hours up to a few days. Most patients will feel comfortable returning to their normal daily activities shortly after their treatment.
Depending on your treatment, your results may last from four months up to two years or longer. See each treatment above to learn how long the results typically last. Each treatment can be repeated at regular intervals to maintain optimal aesthetic results.
