Erbium Laser Resurfacing
in Scottsdale, AZ
Fine lines and wrinkles are some of the most frustrating facial cosmetic issues that women and men face. While some patients turn to facial plastic surgery to address these concerns, others seek out non-surgical approaches.
One of the most effective techniques for improving the quality of your skin is cosmetic laser treatments, and one of the most advanced laser treatments is Erbium laser resurfacing. Erbium laser resurfacing uses fractional laser technology to help stimulate collagen and new cell production. This can be used to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles.
What Should You Expect With Erbium Laser Resurfacing?
Consultation
As with any plastic surgery or cosmetic treatment, one of the most important aspects of your Erbium laser resurfacing procedure is your consultation.
During your Erbium laser resurfacing consultation, you will be able to discuss your frustrations and desires with your skin. Additionally, your provider will evaluate your skin condition to ensure that Erbium laser resurfacing is right for you. They will also let you know what to expect for your treatment and give you any pre and postreatment instructions.
Treatment
Erbium laser resurfacing is performed under general anesthesia. This prevents any pain or discomfort during the treatment.
Your provider will move the Erbium laser handheld device over the treatment area. Intense light energy is directed into the skin to vaporize each layer of the epidermis and reveal new skin, while also promoting the production of collagen in your skin.
Immediately After
The Erbium laser resurfacing treatment can last anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the extent of correction needed.
Over the next seven to 10 days, the skin in the treated area will begin to flake and peel as the healthy skin grows.
