Skin Resurfacing with Palomar Laser Icon

Posted July 13, 2012 in Skin and Laser

Skin irregularities can hurt one’s self-image and confidence. So I am delighted to offer the FDA-approved Palomar Laser Icon for laser resurfacing. Fine lines, facial scars, uneven pigmentation, and sun damage are all problems that one would love to have resolved. Fortunately, these skin issues can be a thing of the past. Individuals who visit my plastic surgery office in Paradise Valley, Arizona near Scottsdale, with the hope to gain a more even-toned and smoother complexion are quite satisfied with the outcome of their laser resurfacing procedure.

I believe that the Palomar Icon Aesthetic System is the most advanced laser and pulsed light system available.  It redefines the standard of care for laser treatments of the skin.

I presently offer fractional non-ablative skin resurfacing in my Scottsdale office performed by our state-certified laser technician, Kristina Feliz. Treatment areas include the face, neck, chest and hands.   Fractional non-ablative skin resurfacing provides short treatment times, minimal redness and swelling, as well as mild pain controlled with topical anesthetics during the procedure. This simple approach promotes skin coagulation with very little preparation required.

Fractional ablative skin resurfacing is a deeper skin resurfacing procedure performed under anesthesia in our state-certified surgery center.  As your doctor, I will be able to control how deep the penetration of the laser will go to ensure accuracy with the areas that need treatment. New skin cells will grow in the treated, deeper layers of your skin and revitalize your face. The entire process generally takes an hour.

The best candidates for the Palomar Laser Resurfacing procedure are those have fair, non-oily skin. However, most people with uneven, pigmented, discolored, or scarred skin may benefit from the microbeam laser technology as well. Results vary from patient to patient, depending on the severity of the skin irregularities. After Kristina and I assess your skin, we will recommend a treatment plan that may include fractional non-ablative skin resurfacing or lighter resurfacing procedures, such as a Retin-A treatment or a chemical peel.
