Arizona Breast Augmentation Prices
Breast augmentation is an empowering procedure that allows patients to customize their look for a boost of confidence. Using silicone or saline breast implants, your board-certified plastic surgeon reshapes uneven or sagging breasts, restores a feminine profile, and enhances overall breast appearance for a result patients love.
But how much does breast augmentation cost in Arizona? This customized procedure can range anywhere from $7500 to $12,000, but the cost varies. There are many different factors that influence the price of breast augmentation, including the location, the plastic surgeon’s experience, and the cost of the implants.
When planning your breast augmentation, you likely want to know how much you’ll be paying. Since the procedure is so custom, however, you won’t typically get a price right off the bat without first scheduling a consultation. However, learning what goes into the final price can make things a little clearer during your search for a plastic surgeon.
What Determines the Cost of Breast Augmentation?
Each procedure is entirely unique to the patient and her needs, but there are a few categories that impact the cost of nearly all plastic surgery procedures.
The Surgeon’s Fee
Sometimes referred to as the surgical fee, the surgeon’s fee can be considered the direct cost of the procedure itself. This varies from procedure to procedure, depending on the relative complexity of the surgery and the amount of time it takes to perform.
For example, you’ll see lower price points for certain smaller procedures like blepharoplasty, because it takes a relatively short amount of time to perform, whereas more involved procedures like a tummy tuck are generally higher priced.
Breast augmentation is in the low-to-mid range as far as cost and complexity, depending on the technique used. Technique is also a factor, as more complex breast augmentations, such as TUBA (transumbilical auxiliary) or transaxillary procedures, are less commonly performed because they are more specialized options.
The surgeon’s fee can also be thought of as the surgeon’s take-home fee. It can vary depending on the surgeon’s expertise and what they deem a reasonable price for the procedure. In most cases, a considerable portion of the surgeon’s fee is used to pay for the cost of running a practice, including staff salaries, overhead, and other expenses.
The surgeon’s fee isn’t the whole cost of the procedure, however. Several additional factors contribute to the final cost.
Facility Fees
Facility fees cover the miscellaneous costs associated with plastic surgery. These vary significantly, particularly in terms of the type of facility in which they are performed. Some plastic surgeons hold privileges at local hospitals, allowing them to perform most surgeries there. In this case, the facility fee encompasses the cost of using the space and compensating the hospital’s nursing staff. Some surgeons have their own ambulatory surgical suite, which may result in reduced costs. Some minimally invasive procedures, such as liposuction, can be performed in the surgeon’s office, which is often the most cost-effective option; however, this is rare.
In any case, facility fees may also include the costs associated with medications and additional medical tools. This may include the cost of the implants themselves, which vary. Saline implants are usually the cheapest option, with silicone in the middle and cohesive silicone or “gummy bear” implants at the high end. The size of the implants also dictates cost, naturally, as the larger the implants, the more expensive they are.
Anesthesia Fees
For the patient’s comfort, plastic surgery procedures are performed using either local or general anesthesia. General anesthesia is administered by a board-certified anesthesiologist, and the patient is put to sleep for the entire duration of the surgery. This option is used for most procedures, as it is the most reliable. Breast augmentation generally requires general anesthesia.
Local anesthesia may be used for shorter surgeries, like blepharoplasty, and it is generally a little less expensive. The anesthesia fee covers the cost of the medication itself and the services of the anesthesiologist, if relevant.
How to Determine the Cost of Your Breast Augmentation
If you know you want large silicone implants, you may be paying a higher fee than someone who wants modest saline ones. If your surgeon has their own surgical center and operates in a less competitive market, the price point may be a little lower than someone who works in Beverly Hills. But of course, these are just estimates.
The best way to determine the actual cost of a breast augmentation is to schedule a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon. During your meeting, you will discuss your specific goals for the procedure, including the desired result, the size and projection of the breast implants, the breast implant placement, and the incision location. From there, your surgeon will calculate the other associated costs and give you an accurate cost estimate.
