Microneedling With PRP

in Scottsdale, AZ

Over time, your tissues begin to break down, causing aesthetic concerns like the presence of wrinkles, fine lines, and uneven skin texture. While this can be frustrating, various cosmetic treatments can rejuvenate the quality of your skin. And one of the most effective of these treatments is microneedling with platelet-rich plasma (PRP).

Microneedling with PRP combines two of the most revolutionary skin rejuvenation therapies to help you achieve results that you can see and feel. This nonsurgical treatment can be used safely on the face and body.

What Are the Benefits of Microneedling With PRP?

A More Youthful Appearance

Wrinkles, fine lines, and other age-related skin concerns can cause you to look much older than you actually are. Microneedling with PRP is an anti-aging treatment that can effectively minimize (and even eliminate) unsightly creases to help you look younger than you have in years.

Increased Collagen Production

Collagen is the backbone of healthy, youthful-looking skin. Sadly, production of this vital protein diminishes as you age. Both microneedling and PRP are used to stimulate collagen, allowing your skin to look firmer, stronger, and healthier overall.

Improved Confidence

Whether from age-related concerns or other blemishes, not looking your best can cause you to feel self-conscious. By effectively rejuvenating the look and feel of your skin, you can feel more comfortable and confident with how you look.

Microneedling With PRP Procedure

Consultation

During this appointment, you will discuss your cosmetic concerns, and your skincare specialist will be able to evaluate your condition to develop a treatment plan just for you. You will also be able to ask any questions you may have about the treatment.

Microneedling

Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure in which dozens of tiny needles puncture the skin to create micro-injuries. These needles can penetrate anywhere from .25 mm to three mm. This process causes cellular regrowth in the body and stimulates collagen and elastin production. Microneedling jump-starts the body into healing itself so that you can enjoy smoother, softer, more blemish-free skin.

Platelet-Rich Plasma

Platelet-rich plasma is naturally found in the blood. This plasma contains growth factors to help your cells heal quicker and stronger than they would without the PRP. PRP also helps promote the regeneration process of soft tissues.

Before the microneedling portion of your treatment, blood will be drawn from your body, and the platelet-rich plasma in your blood will be isolated. During your microneedling treatment, the isolated PRP will be injected into your skin to help you heal more fully from the micro-injuries. This PRP also enhances the production of collagen and elastin in the deeper layers so that you can achieve longer-lasting results.

Concerns

Recovery Icon Recovery

There is no downtime required for microneedling with PRP treatments. Most patients can return to work the day following their treatment. It is important to follow your post-care instructions, which includes cleaning and moisturizing your treated skin at least twice a day and avoiding the use of exfoliators. Additionally, during your recovery period, you should stay out of direct sunlight and avoid any activities that may cause excessive sweating.

Scars Icon Scars

Microneedling is used to diminish the appearance of scars. This treatment should not result in any additional marks on the skin.

Pain Icon Pain

Before microneedling, a topical anesthetic ointment will be applied to the treatment area(s). Most patients report feeling little to no pain, and any discomfort experienced is manageable. You may feel some tenderness immediately following your treatment, though this should dissipate within the next 24 hours.

Cost Icon Cost

The cost of your microneedling with PRP treatment in Scottsdale is dependent on several factors, including the number of areas you are having treated and the extent of correction needed. At your consultation, you will be given a cost estimate. At Arizona Plastic Surgery, we are happy to offer our patients financing options.
