Ultrasound-assisted Lipoplasty (UAL)

Ultrasound-assisted liposuction is used to treat difficult areas of the body, such as the back, abdomen, or previously treated areas. During your procedure, the device will use ultrasonic energy to liquefy unwanted fatty deposits to allow for easier removal. This minimizes postoperative bruising, and the ultrasonic heat promotes skin contraction. Ultrasound-assisted liposuction is ideal for patients with minor skin laxity.

Following your surgery, you may be advised to wear a compression garment to reduce swelling and speed the healing process. Most patients take one week off from work and feel well enough to do routine activities after one or two weeks. Swelling may be present for several weeks, although complete healing takes around six months. Typically, exercise and other strenuous activities can be resumed after six weeks.

Scars

Since the incisions for liposuction are tiny, usually only a quarter of an inch, the resulting scars will be the same length. They are typically placed in inconspicuous areas and fade significantly with time.

Pain
