Raquel is our Office Manager who has the all-important task of running a smooth and efficient office. She is the patient coordinator and surgical scheduler as well. She will assist you in arranging your surgery at one of the Paradise Valley, Scottsdale or Mesa State certified Out Patient Surgery Centers.
Kristina is our Medical Aesthetician who helps Dr. Spies in both preoperative and postoperative skin care. She has extensive training and certification in many skin care procedures including Medical Grade Facial Peels and Dermaplane.
Alice is the Front Office Receptionist as well as a Medical Assistant. She will put you at ease with her positive attitude and customer service skills. She will also assist you with all your appointment needs and prepare you for your consultation with Dr. Spies.
Carol is a Registered Nurse with extensive experience in plastic surgery. She will prepare you for your upcoming surgery and allay all anxieties you may have. Carol also treats patients with skin lines and wrinkles using Botox or Dysport and dermal fillers such as Perlane, Restylane, Juvederm and Radiesse.
Robert J. Spies, MD FACS
Dr. Robert Spies is a board-certified plastic surgeon who performs both cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. He is able to achieve beautiful and natural results by combining art with science. He is passionate about his work and dedicated to each patient's outcome and well-being. With over 24 years of experience, Dr. Spies is regarded as one of Arizona's most respected Plastic Surgeons.
Dr. Spies received his medical degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1979. He then successfully completed both a general surgery and plastic surgery residency; the latter at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He has served as an officer in the past for both the Maricopa County Plastic Surgery Society as well as the Arizona Plastic Surgery Society.
Dr. Spies has been a Plastic Surgeon since 1986 performing both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. His practice now is primarily cosmetic; however, he still does reconstructive surgery for cancer patients (breast cancer as well as head and neck cancer). He is one of only a few surgeons in the Valley who performs microsurgery for head and neck cancer reconstruction. He believes that all people requiring cancer reconstruction deserve care and treatment just like those who seek cosmetic plastic surgery.
A commitment to a healthy lifestyle is one of the most important aspects in life for Dr. Spies. He exercises daily and enjoys hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing and golf. He has competed several times in the Arizona Rock and Roll Marathon as well as the Phoenix Bouldering Competition for outdoor rock climbing. Recently, Dr. Spies became involved in organic farming at his home to further enhance his health and nutrition. Recommending a healthy lifestyle is easier for Dr. Spies to do when he commits himself to the same ideas and principles.
Dr. Spies' office is located in Paradise Valley, Arizona just adjacent to the Paradise Valley Cosmetic Surgery Center. This state-certified center offers state-of- the art care both in the operating room as well as in the surgical over-night recovery center. Many patients do choose to spend the night in this relaxed setting with personalized medical care from experienced registered nurses and staff.
